The Scottie Dog

The Scottish terrier, more commonly known as the scottie dog, is a very easy model to fold. It is extremely cute, especially when you make it out of a smaller piece of paper (about 3 inch by 3 inch).



Step 1: Start with your sheet of paper color side down (sorry about the sideways pic)


Step 2: Valley fold the top to the bottom, crease, and unfold



Step 3: Valley fold the right half to the left, crease, unfold, and rotate the paper 45 degrees




Step 4: Valley fold the top and bottom corners to the center


Step 5: Unfold the bottom corner from the center and fold the tip about halfway between it and the crease line



Step 6: Valley fold the point in the center (the one that used to be the top point) so it sticks out a bit. This will form the tail, eventually.


Step 7: Valley fold the bottom edge up


Step 8: Valley fold the left half of the model to the right


Step 9: Turn the paper 90 degrees clockwise and valley fold the top layer of the bottom edge up along imaginary edge AB


Like so:

Step 11: Turn the model over and valley fold this side so the two sides match up


Step 12: Valley fold the top left corner down


Step 13: Mountain fold the farthest back flap at down at the same angle as in step 12



Step 14: Under the head of the dog (the far right portion), there is a little bit of paper tucked in. Pull this bit of paper out and flatten it to complete your scottie dog.



Ta-da! Your scottie dog!

The dragon is my favorite origami model but it is definitely not a beginner model. To fold it, you need to be able to petal, squash, sink, valley, and reverse fold. If you can't do all of  these folds, refer to the  folds  post. Origami Basketball Hoop

The basketball hoop is a fun and interactive model. Once made, just crumple some paper into a ball and start shooting (you can also make a crumpled ball ). It can be made from either origami paper or printer paper. If you make it from origami paper, it won't be as tall, and won't stand up as easily, but it will still work. I would recommend making it from printer paper though. Also, it might fall over when being used, so just put a book or something behind it and it will stay up fine. Step 1: If you're using printer paper, orient it vertically. If you're using origami paper, make a  waterbomb base  and then skip to step 9. Oragami Inflatable Frog

The inflatable frog is a traditional Japanese origami model. It is a rather common model, but it's only one of many origami frogs out there. It is a rather advanced model, requiring squash and petal folds to make the base, and reverse folds to form the frog. It inflates, but is folded from a frog base rather than a waterbomb base. Step 1: Fold a  frog base Step 2: Valley fold the bottom right and left edges to the center Step 3: Repeat step 2 on the other three parts of the frog base  Step 4: Valley fold the top layer of the bottom two points up Step 5: Crease and unfold Step 6: Inside reverse fold the flaps up Step 7: Valley fold the two bottom points remaining out to their respective sides Step 8: Crease and unfold Step 9: Inside reverse fold the flaps Step 10: Now make reverse folds to form the arms and legs (use the picture below to know where to make your folds) Step 11: Blow into the litt
