Some changes happening to Epic Origami....

      OKAY. So maybe, it you've looked into this blog before, you know that this used to be my brother's and I took over for him. And it was going good, until I stopped posting. My last post was like a year and a half ago. (GULP!) I just plain forgot about it.
      Anyway, this post is to say, I'm done doing nothing! I am going to do my best to get posting again and give you quality origami instructions.
     And I'd like to start off with a good note and make this blog even better. So I have a few questions for you. And if you have good input, please comment below your opinion.


  1. What type of origami instructions do you want? Animals? Moneygami? Flowers? Something practical?
  2. Would you find patterned origami distracting in my tutorials?
  3. What background do you think is best? Plain white? Plain color? Black or regular wood designs?

     Thanks for reading this post and the the rest of my blog. I really appreciate it. Please tell me anything else I can do to improve this blog (other than keep posting. I am going to do that).

The dragon is my favorite origami model but it is definitely not a beginner model. To fold it, you need to be able to petal, squash, sink, valley, and reverse fold. If you can't do all of  these folds, refer to the  folds  post. Origami Basketball Hoop

The basketball hoop is a fun and interactive model. Once made, just crumple some paper into a ball and start shooting (you can also make a crumpled ball ). It can be made from either origami paper or printer paper. If you make it from origami paper, it won't be as tall, and won't stand up as easily, but it will still work. I would recommend making it from printer paper though. Also, it might fall over when being used, so just put a book or something behind it and it will stay up fine. Step 1: If you're using printer paper, orient it vertically. If you're using origami paper, make a  waterbomb base  and then skip to step 9. Origami Swan (medium)

The swan is a very elegant bird, and this origami model is no exception. It is quite a bit harder than the other swan I have on this blog, and I do not go over the reverse folds in detail. It is best when made out of white paper, but I used yellow to help distinguish each side better. Step 1: Fold a kite base and turn it over so that the flaps are on the back Step 2: Valley fold the far left point in Step 3: Valley fold that same point to the far left edge Step 4: Continue folding the point out so the crease you made in step 3 lines up with the left edge Step 5: Valley fold the model in half Step 6: Take the far left point and bring it down a little to adjust the fold (this step is optional so if you don't understand just skip it) Step 7: Valley fold the bottom edge to the top, and mountain fold the far flap up at the same angle Step 8: Valley fold the far right point to the far left Step 9: Unfold ...
