The Fortune Teller

The fortune teller is a very easy model to make, and it also has some practical applications. If you plan on writing in it use a piece of white paper that is cut to form a square, because it can be harder to write on origami paper.

Step 1: Fold a blintz base and have the flaps facing up

Step 2: Turn the paper over and rotate 45 degrees

Step 3: Valley fold the top corner to the center

Step 4: Valley fold the remaining corners to the center

Step 5: Valley fold the bottom edge to the top

Step 6: Rotate the model 180 degrees so the bottom becomes the top

Step 7: (Top view) Place a finger in each of the four pockets at the bottom of your model

Step 8: Open up all of the remaining flaps, turn over, and your fortune teller is complete!

To make it work as a fortune teller, place words or numbers on the four outside flaps, the four isosceles triangles that are formed at step 4, and write fortunes on the underside of those flaps
