The Waterbomb
The name 'waterbomb' comes from the waterbomb's ability to hold water for a short amount of time. If you make it out of a square sheet of copy paper you can fill it with water and it will stay together long enough to be thrown at a friend, who might get mad at you for soaking them. It is a very neat 3-D model. At first use a large piece of paper because it makes it easier to make the detailed folds. When you get better you can transition to smaller paper.
Step 1: Fold a waterbomb base
Step 2: Take left corner and valley fold the first layer up so the point goes to the top of the base
Step 3: Do the same on the other side
Step 4: Now, take the left hand flap of the little square you created and valley fold the tip to the center
Step 5: Repeat on the other side
Step 6: Now, directly above the new flap there is yet another flap. Valley fold it down so it's edge touches the edge of the new flap.
Step 7: Valley fold that new triangular flap down onto the other flap, with the fold line being the longest side of the tiny triangle. It will cover half of it. Sorry the picture doesn't show this step the best.
Step 8: Unfold
Step 9: The larger flap (the one I am holding in the picture) has a little pocket in it, and open this little pocket up
Step 10: Valley fold the small flap into the pocket of the larger flap and flatten
It should look like this (the flap may be sticking out a little if the folds aren't perfect, but that's OK, as long as it is tucked in the center)
Step 11: Now repeat steps 6 through 10 on the other side (I have included pictures, just not the written instructions, although I skipped the details of tucking it in the pocket)
It should look like this:
Step 12: Turn the model over and repeat steps 2 through 11. You should get something that looks like this on both sides.
Step 13: Place your fingers in the gaps between the two overlapping flaps
It will look like this; notice the little hole in the center. All you have to do is put your mouth up this little hole and blow to inflate it.
The inflated waterbomb!
If you would like to turn the waterbomb into a cube you can define the faces so it looks like this.
