Money Shirt

Image
The origami money shirt is a simple and fun origami model. It, unlike most origami, is folded from a U.S. dollar bill. For those of you that don't live in the U.S., you can just cut a piece of paper to the dimensions of one (about 16cm by 6.5m). Any denomination will work, but a one dollar bill is cheapest. Money origami is also a great way to give someone money, i.e. a gift or tip. Step 1: Take your dollar bill and orient it horizontally (normally you should have it face side up, but I forgot so bear with me) Step 2: Valley fold it in half lengthwise, crease well, and unfold Step 3: Valley fold the top and bottom edges to this center crease Step 4: At the far right side, valley fold the white tips of the bill back (those not using bills just fold back half a centimeter) Step 5: Valley fold the two corners to the center... ...one... ...and two. It should look like this and you should have flaps like a collar of a shirt:

The heart is a very easy origami model that makes a great Valentines Day gift. You can write poems on them or decorate them. Feel free to be creative!  Step 1: Start with your paper color side down and oriented diagonally Step 2: Precrease both diagonals Step 3: Valley fold the top corner down to the center point Step 4: Valley fold the bottom point up to the top Step 5: Valley fold the bottom edges up so they meet in the center  Like this: Step 6: Turn the model over and valley fold the tips of the white triangles down halfway Step 7: Valley fold the furthest left and right points in partway Step 8: Turn the model over and your easy heart is complete!

The Spear Paper Airplane

This airplane is very similar in make to the  second airplane  version I have on this blog. Like most airplanes, this one is not complicated, and is folded from a regular sheet of printer paper (8.5 by 11). This airplane flies very straight when folded well, and is my favorite airplane model. Step 1: Start with a regular sheet of 8.5 by 11 paper oriented horizontally Step 2: Valley fold the model in half, crease, and unfold Step 3: Valley fold the top right corner in so the right edge meets the center crease Step 4: Valley fold the bottom right corner just like in step 3 Step 5: Valley fold edges AB and edge BC to the center Step 6: Valley fold the far right point to the far left. Make sure the center crease lines up. Step 7: Valley fold that same point back, but leaving some paper in between (essentially crimp folding it) Step 8: Valley fold the bottom edge up so it lines up with the top Step 9: Valley fold t
