Origami Fish

This fish model was designed by Michael LaFosse. It is a rather tricky model that requires several difficult folds, but it is not hard to fold after some practice.

Step 1: Fold a fish base

Step 2: Mountain fold the far left point behind to the right

Step 3: Valley fold the left hand flaps to the right...

 ...like so:

Step 4: Mountain fold the model in half

Step 5: Flip the model over so the right becomes the left

Step 6: Valley fold the top right corner down so it meets the nearest edge

Step 7: Valley fold the bottom right corner up so it is a little past the edge of the flap you folded in step 6

Step 8: Flip the model back over

Step 9: Valley fold the bottom left corner up so the bottom edge lines up on both sides

Step 10: Flip the model over again

Step 11: Valley fold point A (marked in the above pic) up so it is in the middle of the flap

Step 12: Valley fold most of the bottom edge up

Step 13: Crease and unfold

Step 14: Reverse fold the flap up

Step 15: At the tip of the tail there are two separate flaps. Pull the inside flap down to complete the tail.

Step 16: Pull down the fin at the front of the fish to complete your fish!
