The Blintz Base

Image
The Blintz base is a very simple base to make and it is used in several models such as the traditional box and the fortune teller. Step 1: Start with your sheet of origami paper color side down and position it as shown below Step 2: Valley fold the left corner to the right corner Step 3: Crease and unfold Step 4: Valley fold the top corner down to the bottom Step 5: Crease and unfold Step 6: Valley fold the top corner to the center of the paper. The center will be at the intersection of the creases Step 7: Valley fold the other three corners in and your blintz base is complete!

The Dragon Head

Image
The dragon head is a very easy model to fold, and is folded from the square base. Its mouth makes a great (and fearsome) hiding place for small objects. Step 1: Fold a square base  and have the open end at the bottom Step 2: Valley fold the top layer at the bottom up to the top Step 3: Valley fold the bottom right edge so it aligns with the center Step 4: Valley fold the bottom left edge so it aligns with the center Step 5: Valley fold the small triangle at the top down. Make sure to only fold the top layer. Step 6: Turn the model over Step 7: Repeat steps 2 through 5 on this side so that it looks like this on both sides: Step 8: Rotate it ninety degrees so the long point is pointing to the right Step 9: There will be little flaps between the top and bottom points. Stick a finger in each of them and pull apart gently. It will look like this from this side: Your dragon head is now completed! Not

There are actually two different ways to make a pinwheel base, and I will demo both of them. One is just precreases, while the other is folded from a  boat base . The end result is the same, however; a beautiful pinwheel base. Version 1: Step 1: Fold a  boat base Step 2: Valley fold the far right top point up Step 3: Valley fold the bottom left point down Step 4: Turn the model over Your completed pinwheel! Version 2: Step 1: Start with your piece of paper color/pattern side down Step 2: Valley fold the left edge to the right and unfold Step 3: Valley fold the top edge to the bottom and unfold Step 4: Valley fold the top left corner to the bottom right and unfold Step 5: Valley fold the top right corner to the bottom left and unfold Step 6: Vall
